Can I be a whistleblower?
A whistleblower is someone who reports information about a suspected violation of Alberta securities laws.
You may qualify as a whistleblower if you are:
- A full-time or part-time employee, or a director of a person or company;
- An independent contractor of a person or company;
- An employee or director of an independent contractor of a person or company; or
- An employee or director of an affiliate of a person or company.
AND
You have information about a contravention of Alberta securities laws by that person or company.
AND
You seek to voluntarily provide this information to ASC staff.
AND
The information you provide is truthful and not misleading.
The Office of the Whistleblower will decide whether you are a whistleblower based on the Securities Act (Alberta).
