2025 Corporate Finance Disclosure Information Session

On Thursday, January 16, 2025, the ASC held its 2025 Corporate Finance Disclosure Information Session.
During this free virtual event, ASC staff expanded upon the findings in the 2024 Corporate Finance Disclosure Report to help Alberta reporting issuers deliver the highest quality disclosure and financial reporting. ASC staff provided insight into the continuous disclosure reviews they conducted over the past year along with hot topics and recent regulatory developments.
Key topics included:
- Guidance on mergers and acquisitions (M&A) disclosure, including share-based payments in acquisitions
- Best practices to prevent selective disclosure
- Cyber security disclosure
- Insights on the listed issuer financing exemption
Attendees also received a regulatory update on the well-known seasoned issuer (WKSI) shelf prospectus regime and the status of proposed amendments to diversity and climate-related disclosure requirements.
