Workum, Hennig Hearing Held Over Until November
Oct 01, 2003
Hearings in the matter of Peter J. Workum and Theodor Hennig will be held over until November, says the Alberta Securities Commission’s Executive Director.
The hearing, which was originally scheduled to commence September 29th, has been held over until November 19th, said David Linder, ASC Executive Director. Counsel for both parties have been working to resolve facts and issues that would shorten the amount of time anticipated for the hearing.
In its Notice of Hearing, the allegations of ASC staff include that Workum and Hennig, while in senior positions with Proprietary Industries Inc., were responsible for the company filing financial statements contrary to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and containing misrepresentations.
The Alberta Securities Commission is the industry funded regulatory agency responsible for administering the Alberta Securities Act. Its mission is to foster a fair and efficient capital market in Alberta and, together with the other members of the Canadian Securities Administrators, develop and operate the Canadian Securities Regulatory System.
